So I have a friend named James, or as I like to call him "Z" who likes to have his picture taken. So I took it as an opportunity for a free model.

I was using a new lighting technique in a lot of these, it is an idea I got from some fashion photographers.

Basically rather than diffusing the flash as much as possible for even lighting, you try to give it a hot spot, for a certain effect.

okay I used a diffuser a few times.

That shark is totes swimming into his neck.

These ones on the stairs went very well also.

This is the very beginning of the night, mostly shot to get my settings right and test my flash etc. But i really like the natural gate and head position. This is a very candid looking shot.

Ann Arbor Art Fair

So, I am currently on a trip for about 12 days in the American Southwest. We just got our start here in New Mexico today. These are some of the shots I got. I started the day shooting both color and B&W, but as the day wore on, I only continued the B&W.
